If you are an art lover visiting Lagos State, you should definitely check out Nike Art Gallery. This is the largest art gallery in West Africa and one of the most popular art galleries in Lagos. It is always open to the public and when you step into the building, you are first greeted by it’s huge white walls which make a perfect backdrop for pictures and lovely sculptures made out of recycled materials like metal scraps, rubber, etc

At Nike Art Gallery, you will be thrown into a colorful trance and you will be mesmerized by a sea of extraordinary works from various talented artists. Exhibitions at the gallery include paintings, sculptures, drawings and a host of other categories.

Guests are given a tour round the facility and are often times adorned with adire costumes handmade by mama Nike herself. This is to promote the rich cultural heritage of the Yorubas.

While at the gallery, you have to be careful about how you take pictures. Professional cameras are not allowed and you are also not allowed to take photos of the art works directly. Entry into the gallery is free and the only time you have to pay a dime, is when you want to purchase something.
